The Double Check Valve Device Assembly – Use and Installations
The DCVA is used for low hazardous situations only, such as but not limited to fire system without chemicals or boilers without chemicals additives.
The DCVA should not be installed in a pit or area subject to flooding since it makes testing and maintenance difficult. In addition, if the pit is subject to flooding, the test cocks could if they were not closed tight allow non-potable water to enter the DCVA and the potable water system.
